Intro

Europe is a patchwork of cultures, cuisines, and cities—all just a train ride apart. But planning a trip across multiple countries? That can be overwhelming fast. If the idea of coordinating flights, trains, and hotels gives you heart palpitations, you’re not alone. Here’s how to keep your sanity (and your budget) intact while planning the ultimate European adventure.

1. Pick a Realistic Route

Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Prague, Santorini, and Barcelona… in two weeks? Hard pass. Start by choosing 3–4 major cities or regions and build your route with geography (and time) in mind. Think clusters: France–Switzerland–Italy, or UK–Belgium–Netherlands. I help clients map this out based on their travel style and timeline.

2. Decide How You’ll Travel Between Stops

Flying within Europe is cheap but can be a hassle. Trains are scenic, efficient, and often city-center to city-center. Want flexibility? A Eurail Pass might be your new best friend. I help compare options based on your route, time frame, and comfort level.

3. Don’t Overbook Your Days

It’s tempting to pack your itinerary with every museum, monument, and market—but don’t. Allow breathing room between activities and include “flex days” in case you fall in love with a place (and trust me, you will). A good itinerary balances structure with spontaneity.

4. Book Accommodations with Location in Mind

Saving $20/night on a hotel an hour outside the city will cost you more in time (and transit headaches). Prioritize central stays—even better if they’re near major train stations or metro lines. I can help score deals on boutique hotels or Airbnbs that are both charming and convenient.

5. Use a Travel Advisor to Do the Heavy Lifting

Coordinating multiple destinations, transport, and stays? That’s my jam. I create custom itineraries that take the guesswork out of the planning process—so all you have to do is show up and eat gelato. Lots of it.
